It is the beginning of wildflower season. Technically snowdrops aren’t wildflowers but they are the first thing that blooms here and they are beautiful. They are also my alarm clock. When they bloom I know that the hepatica flowers will open shortly afterward. Today is the first day the snowdrops have fully opened and the hepatica is on the verge of flowering. These are exciting times. I am always struck by what these flowers have had to overcome to express themselves. That these delicate creations have appeared, after having been buried by ice and snow only a week ago, is truly miraculous.
